A broad ChatGPT rollout

OpenAI says GPT-6 with Intelligent UI began rolling out globally on October 7 to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users, with Free and Go access due to expand on October 8. Paid tiers use an October version of GPT-6 Sol, while Free and Go use an October version of GPT-6 Luna. The release applies to the regular Chat experience; OpenAI says the models in ChatGPT Work and Codex are not changing as part of this rollout.

What Intelligent UI changes

The new system can assemble responses from native, streamable components including graphics, buttons, forms, charts and interactive tools. OpenAI describes a component library and compiler that progressively render an interface while the model generates it. The company also says GPT-6 can begin answering before its reasoning is complete. Its claim that web-search answers start 44% sooner is based on an internal comparison and has not been independently verified by AIQuantumScore.

OUR ANALYSIS

Giving a mass-market chatbot the ability to generate task-specific interfaces shifts the product beyond a fixed stream of text. The reach is significant: OpenAI says ChatGPT has more than 1.2 billion weekly users, although that figure is provider-reported. The accompanying system card classifies both October models as High capability in cybersecurity and biological and chemical domains, and reports some statistically significant safety-evaluation regressions versus their GPT-5.6 counterparts. OpenAI says production safeguards and manual reviews informed deployment. Independent testing is still needed before making broader performance or safety conclusions, and this announcement does not create an AIQuantumScore benchmark result.
